I am sore.

Ow. Not running for two months before track was a baaaaad idea. On the bright side I think I'm kicking this English essay's butt! Although I haven't talked to my teacher about it yet... I hope she doesn't tear it apart.

I had a math test today which I think I did fine on. I might have a bio test tomorrow, but you never know with my teacher.

First psych IB study session is after school on Thursday, yay IB exams.

I'm going to go apply icy hot to both of my legs now, bye!

Geeking Out.

It just took me an hour to do the history reading for tonight because at the very beginning it has the poem about the statue of liberty with an allusion to a Greek statue that I remembered reading about somewhere and it said the name of the statue in the footnotes (The Colossus of Rhodes), so I googled it and it was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and that's where I got way off track.
The seven wonders are:

The Colossus of Rhodes
The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Lighthouse of Alexandria
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

You should know that I loveloveLOVE Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mythology and that's what most of the wonders were about (I alos like cool old places, so that got the rest of them.)! So I spent a good half an hour wikipedia-ing them all and becoming quite sad when I remembered the Great Pyramid is the only one left. I would have loved to visit all of them! Especially the temple of Artemis and the Statue of Zeus and the Colossus. Sigh. I'm not completely out of hope though because there are still the 7 new wonders of the world! (The wonders of the modern world are boring.) The new ones are:

Chichen Itza, Mexico - Mayan City
Christ Redeemer, Brazil - Large Statue
The Great Wall, China
Machu Picchu, Peru
Petra, Jordan - Ancient City
The Roman Colosseum, Italy
The Taj Mahal, India

I've been to the Great Wall, but now I want to go to all of the other places! Top 3: Roman Colosseum, Macchu Picchu, and a tie between Chichen Itza, Mexico and Petra, Jordan.

See, this connects to school because me history reading caused this geekery.

So English is a little better. I think the teacher is a little unorganized and she was gone for half of the first ten days, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of things pretty soon. We get our first essay assigned on Friday, I'm a little nervous, but my teacher told us it's supposed to be hard. Great.

Oh yeah, track starts on Monday I have only run three times since XC, but I've been stretching and doing ab workouts and stuff. I'm still going to suck though haha.

Going to go think about traveling and wonders of the world instead of English now!

GAH ENGLISH GAH

Ok, I need to vent about English and my family and why I need my own laptop.

1. English- Ok we had a substitute on the second day of school and he told us our homework so I went home and did it and then my teacher posted on the blog at 8:30 at night a different assignment that is due tomorrow. And I had already done the assignment that the sub had given us so I had to delete it and do a completely different assignment. Definitely a little pissed. Also the class just stresses me out. I don't know why but every time I'm in it or I think about it my brain just starts freaking out and I can't think about anything else and then I get really emotional and that is not fun for anyone.

2. My family/why I need a computer of my own- So we have a desktop computer and my mom has a laptop for work. The problem with the desktop computer is that it is in the room with the TV, and it is next to the kitchen so everyone is in the room with the computer and I can't concentrate at all. There is also a 2 hour time limit that my dad set on it for me (because he is crazy), and I can't get on it past 8 PM. This is a problem because my English teacher just posted the homework at 8:30 PM. So that leaves my mom's laptop which I don't always have access to especially when she is on business trips and stuff like that, or when she has to do her own work. If I had my own laptop I'd be able to go into my room and focus without distractions, be able to manage my own time without the added stress of not having time on the computer, and it would be so much easier to do all of my projects and stuff especially since my dad is super anal about his electronics. So that is why it would be beneficial for me to own my own laptop.

New Semester

It's a new semester which means I switch psych for English and independent study for an actual french class. I got all A's except for a B in bio which was an 88.9. Sigh. So close.

Apparently IB Jr. English is the hardest class ever and I was really nervous, I was shaking when I sat down. I have a small class (23 people) which is good. The teacher seems to think everyone is scared of her, which isn't true, everyone is just scared of the class.

Going to go work on homework. How am I supposed to find a visual representation of motivation?
